NGO Overview, Mission, and Purpose: What We Are About and Who We Help

NAWT is an independent charity run entirely off of voluntary contributions stationed in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1971, yet its roots can be found in 1958, when the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) established BUVA Dog Rescue. NAWT strives to protect all animals from abandonment, cruelty, and neglect. We provide care for these animals and find homes for them. NAWT envisions a future where no animal is refused help. An absolute rule of the trust is that no healthy animal is ever put to sleep. We believe every animal deserves a suitable environment, a suitable diet, freedom to exhibit normal behavioral patterns, safety with or away from other animals, and protection from pain, suffering, injury, and disease; following the Animal Welfare Act of 2006. Beyond from that, NAWT believes in being transparent and accountable for all supporters, donars beneficiaries, and stakeholders; respectful with all animals brought in; and responsible with all pets regarding proper treatment and care. NAWT is run in such a way that it will be efficient with its money, aspirational, run with high quality staff and volunteers, and compliant with statutory responsibilities.

NGO "Bottom Line": How We Make an Impact

NAWT has provided homes for thousands of animals which have been injured, neglected, or abandoned by their owners. We provide not only a home for them, but the search for a new home, attention and care, food, water, exercise, and anything else an animal might need. We even own a 10 acre retirement farm for animals whose owners might have died. There are a plethora or stories of animals who were almost inevitably about to face death and have been rescued by our organization. We strive to become the largest animal charity there is so that all animals have an equal chance at happiness; regardless of specie, age, or history.

NGO Job Openings: Who, Why, Where, When, and for How Much?

Volunteers are needed in the both the Clacton and Burnham charity shops. The shops raise money for the animals currently in NAWT's care. By helping out at the shops, you are indirectly helping each and every animal in NAWT's facilities.

No matter how tall, or how small, we care for ALL! We are not speciesist like that of the NGO "Save the Pandas" who only care for the welfare of the pandas. Here at the National Animal Welfare Trust we provide protection for all species! You yourself can make the difference in an animals life; you can save one, and help that animal have a loving owner like every animal deserves.
