NGO Overview, Mission, and Purpose: What We Are About and Who We Help

We are an association that supports those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, promotes brain health to reduce risks of these diseases, and we help in advancing research about them. We are a global, national, and local association, giving care and support to all those affected.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia are two very horrible diseases and the more impact people can make on those affected including their families and friends, the more these diseases are likely to be terminated. With the right research, the best care, and hard work, we can hopefully rid the world of Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

NGO "Bottom Line": How Me Make an Impact

In order to make an impact to those diagnosed and to those who face a future with Alzheimer’s or Dementia, we have put our mission into action by having/doing the following:

  • 24/7 Helpline (1.800.272.3900)
  • 4,500 support groups based nationally
  • Give 20,000 educator programs annually
  • Manage the Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser every year
  • Research grant program Alzheimer’s International Conference (AAIC) – thousands of scientists and researchers discuss and share research on Alzheimer’s

In addition to these, we focus our work on core values: integrity, commitment to excellence, inclusiveness, diversity, consumer focus, and accountability. Our main concern is to spread awareness about this disease and to gain the support in advancing research to eventually cure the disease.

NGO Job Openings: Who, Why, Where, When, and for How Much?

There are several openings for volunteers of all sorts at The National Alzheimer’s Association. People of almost all ages can volunteer at a Walk to End Alzheimer’s or they can volunteer at their local association. People can also help by sharing their story, or by becoming an advocate or a champion.

Why You Should Join Us...

The National Alzheimer’s Association is dedicated to helping those with Alzheimer’s and dementia in all ways possible. They provide information about the disease, resources to learn more about it, suggestions on where and how to get help, they do research that will hopefully lead to the irradiation of the disease, and they raise money to help support people who suffer from the disease. They raise money by holding fundraising events, such as Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and also taking several different kinds of donations.
